It throws a error-msg much like like the one at the top if my first post. Error Your Php Session.save_path Is Not Writable
I've closed and reopened the browser and rerun the dotproject install. Oops! Thanks for your help.
Note that you may want to make that check optional via a config setting or something, because it IS going to be non-writable on the majority of shared hosts, and in Can I download 1.5.3 from somewhere, or some other version that works? Problem was one servers session data was not available in other server.

Fixes #1583">Ensures group/owner set on php session path. Looks like a good thing to me. session_save_path() needs to be called before session_start() for that purpose. So as a test I changed the group for /var/lib/php/session to www-data and my login for phpMyAdmin started working. If you get a "500 Server Misconfiguration Error", you can't override these values in .htaccess, and you're stuck with the admin.php edit.
