I managed to get rid of it by Uninstalling the processor, then reboot and enable HT, then XP loads both Processor.sys drivers. My drive D is the CD Writer[AOPEN] on IDE2. ?? The paging activity increased so much that it caused disk thrashing on the server and these errors were logged. I have tracked this for several months without loss of data, and it appears to be spurious though it does fill up the System log. The problem with a repair install is that positive/desired results are not a given, it's just an attempt to repair that may not be successful. Anything in the chain from the controller on outwards can cause this error, and Windows really can't tell where the problem happened. Join the IT Network or Login. Not so fast , my friend. Past experience tells me that's just luck of the draw though, maybe next time a format will be required.
